I started making some, and just need help finishing them. I don't know how to attach the elastic at the top so they don't fall off when I wear them. Any suggestions? I figure logically I should make it tighter so when it's around my knee, it'll hold tight, but any ideas how to make it work? I don't own a sewing machine, so any suggestions for hand stitching would be greatly appreciated! :)

Re: help making fun fur legwarmers.
Thu, April 2, 2009 - 1:32 PMHey! I would definitely do elastic for certainty in staying up.
You could get funky with yarn and do big hand stitches. What do they look like? I don't own a sewing machine but have tons of spare yarn!
I would just fold the top over a thin piece of elastic if there's a little excess and do a simple loop stitch with a big yarn needle over the elastic but not through it or beneath it where the fabrics meet at the fold under the elastic.
How fun!
